Mike Fraser

Professor"

Introduction

Prof Mike Fraser is Professor of Human-Computer Interaction at University of Bristol. He was founding leader of BIG over a decade ago and has worked since then to establish Bristol as a centre of HCI, emphasising research which embeds and evaluates novel physical hardware design in everyday settings. He currently works on an EPSRC Established Career ICT fellowship, a major five-year programme investigating Interaction Design with Functional Plastic materials. He gets excited by the idea that in the future we will be able to make our own computer chips at home.   Mike thinks his old-school personal website is endearing. He is, of course, wrong. He occasionally uses LinkedIn and Twitter. He has at times failed as a surfer, antiques dealer, naturalist and genealogist. He is webmaster for The Beckford Society.
